The Bangamela2012 Committee contemplatively selected the 66,000 square foot Community Cultural Center at the Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale, VA Campus as the venue. It is conveniently located just a few miles from downtown Washington DC, and few blocks from the Capital Beltway with extensive parking facilities adjacent to the building.
The Bangamela2012 aesthetics and design committee puts an especial emphasis on creating a welcoming and a true Bengali festival mood at the beautiful picturesque campus.
The Cultural Community Center includes a gymnasium that would be converted into the main performance hall with approximately 1500 seating capacity and a state-of-the arts auditorium with 525 seating capacity that would be used as the second performance hall. Nearly 50 vendor booths would be spread in the two floors for the convenient shopping experience by the attendees.
There is a kitchen in the building and a cafeteria in a short walk from the building that would be used for authentic Bengali food services, a key feature often difficult to offer in a Hotel or a Convention Center facility.
The venue is approximately 7 miles away from the Bangamela2012 official Hotel, Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks; there will be frequent shuttle services to and from the hotel.
Ernst Community Theater
The theater has 525 seats, superior lighting and state-of-the-art technology.
The Ernst Community Theater has a dressing room area for women and men; each of them with lockers and showers. In addition, a green room of 240 sq ft and a scene shop that serves as storage space for incoming shows.
In addition, the Ernst Community Theater will provide you with the necessary equipment for your meetings or performances such as, Lighting Fixtures, Sound System, Microphones (wireless, hanging or standing), stage, stage dance cover, 16 mm video projector and a grand piano. There are no construction tools or supplies on site.
Main Performance Hall
This hall seats up to 1500 chairs and 250 people on the bleachers. Bleachers are located on the left side of the gym.
This hall is equipped with 7 electrical outlets (double), 2 telephone jacks, 2 fire extinguishers, and 1 water fountain.
