For the movie buff in all of us we have some of the movies that actually have been hot ticket items back in our home towns lately. So be sure to get the popcorn and grab a prime seat for this one.

Some of the major movies to be screened at the event are

Royal Bengal Rahasya: The classic from Satyajit Ray relived under the expert direction of Sandip Ray.

Gosai Baganer Bhoot: A children's movie largely directed by Nitish Roy which has gained popularity amidst both adult and children alike.

Moner Manush: A movie based on Lalan Fakir's life directed by none other than Gautam Ghose

Guerrilla: A film based on the events of the Bangladesh Liberation War. An adaptation of the novel Nishiddho Loban by Syed Shamsul Huq, it was released on April 14, 2011.

RUNAWAY ("Udhao"): A film directed by Amit Ashraf, a young Bengali-American film-maker. See http://www.runawaythefilm.com for more info.

Duhsamayer Bandhu (A friend in need): A documentary on Liberation War of Bangladesh, created by eminent journalist and writer Shahriar Kabir. It depicts India's contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh, featuring a number of rare scenes and interviews, filmed in Bangladesh and India. The film show will be followed by a discussion with Shahriar Kabir, also the executive president of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee.
